Doing Intermittent Fasting



I started Intermittent Fasting on September 1st. I was tired of being so restricted on what I could eat and couldn’t eat. Now I am fasting for 20 hours a day and then during my 4 hour eating window I can eat what ever I want. I am still trying to focus on fruits, beans and greens so I can have plenty of fiber. However, I don’t hold myself back from having treats when I want them.

I have already lost some weight and am now down to 140.6 lbs. I am so close to hitting into the 130s! I haven’t been in the 130s for years. I am now below my pre-pregnancy weight from my last pregnancy. Now if I can only get down to the 122 lbs that I was back in 2003.

I am taking the Fast-5 approach to fasting. Which is intermittent fasting every day. I chose the eating window of 2-6 PM though I sometimes go with 3-7 PM. I have been eating some meat lately, but decided i’d be better off going completely vegetarian again.

I have already noticed a huge difference in how I feel during the day. It is nice to not obsess over food all the time. I find that during my fasts I can concentrate on my work and other projects and not always be looking at the clock to see when my next meal will be. As you can see on my blog, I have tried many different things in my journey towards finding ultimate health. I feel that intermittent fasting a huge leap forward for me. I plan to make this an everyday part of my life.

Now… I just need to refine what I am actually eating during my eating window each day.
